Guests enjoy a free breakfast buffet and sauna access at this peaceful hotel, which is centrally located in Loviisa, just a 1-hour drive from both Helsinki and the Russian border.

Hotel Degerby’s bright guest rooms are decorated in a simple, subtle style with warm colours. Most rooms have bathrooms with a shower, while some include a bathtub. Many of the rooms have a TV and DVD player. Half of the rooms have windows facing the central park, while the others face a quiet courtyard.

In addition to a private jacuzzi, Degerby’s stylish suites offer sea views from a furnished balcony. The larger rooms are ideal for families and include a separate living room.

Hotel Degerby’s delicious complimentary breakfast is served in the à la carte restaurant, Styrboard, which also offers a popular lunch buffet on weekdays. Here, guests can also choose between Mediterranean influenced cuisine and local dishes before having a coffee or cocktail in Cafe-Bar Babord.

Smaller groups can enjoy dinners and banquets in the unique Degerby Gille, an inn dating back to the 17th century. In summer, try the famous Smörgåsbord, which includes local delicacies.

Pub Alex offers a wide range of beers, while the attached Club Alexia is open until 04:00 three nights a week. Club Alexia is one of the newest night clubs in the region and entertainment is provided each night by DJs. Live music and stand-up comedy shows also take place every week.

In Hotel Degerby you will stay in a comfortable room of a high standard at the center of Loviisa only one hour from Helsinki in the west and Russian border in the east. We have 50 rooms of which 3 are suites and also 2 rooms for disabled and a sauna for hotel guests.

Hotel's delicious breakfast is served in A 'la carte restaurant Styrbord which serves also a popular lunch buffet on week days. In the hotel lobby there is Cafe-Bar Babord where you can enjoy different kinds of coffee varieties and drinks as well.

Please note that check-in for the quadruple room is between 12:00 and 16:00. For arrivals outside of these hours, please contact the hotel reception in advance.

The sauna is open daily, from 18:00 until 19:00 for women, and from 19:00 until 20:00 for men.

Families can request a private sauna time outside the official opening hours, at an additional cost.

Easy access by car from St. Petersburg-Helsinki-Turku Motorway E18. Only 86 km from the busiest Airport, Helsinki-Vantaa.

When arriving in Finland, Helsinki by a car-ferry take direction Motorway 6 / 7 or E18 to the East, only one hour drive away.

The Region of Itä-Uusimaa

The Region of Itä-Uusimaa consists of eight historic inland and coastal municipalities: Askola, Lapinjärvi, Liljendal, Myrskylä, Pernaja, Pukkila, Ruotsinpyhtää, Sipoo.

The municipalities in Itä-Uusimaa are situated by the European road E18 that links the southern coast of Finland to St Petersburg in Russia. E18 is a gateway to Europe and Russia. Highways 6 and 7 link the region to eastern parts of Finland and Russian Karelia. The ancient historical highway Kings Road runs along the southern coast of Itä-Uusimaa. It has been a nationwide route since 14th century.

Region of Itä-Uusimaa offers unique opportunities for recreational travellers as well as for travellers interested in culture. Itä-Uusimaa houses the oldest buildings in Finland.

Places of historical interest are found in each municipality such as the unique  Old Towns in Porvoo and Loviisa, Strömfors iron works, river valley areas, churches and many manors that are even still lived in today.
